#Crocodile_holding_Fish

 
Sculpture of the lively Crocodile motif that holds fish which is present at the Chhayadevi/ #Mayadevi Temple is a #Pranala which was built to drain out waters used for ceremonial bath of the main deity which is located in the #Konark temple complex. This temple is dedicated to Godess #Chayadevi believed to have been on The temple facing east consists of a sanctum and a porch standing over a raised platform facade of which is relieved with ornamentation. This temple is assignable to circa late eleventh century and this  temple is known for its architectural Marcel and sculptures. Konark is about 35 kilometres northeast from Puri city on the coastline in #Puri district #Odisha India.
