This Adhikara Nandi procession which takes place on the morning of the third day of the Panguni festival, is of historical significance. Adhikara Nandi, which has the face of a bull and the form of Shiva, is considered the leader of wisdom. The 'Adhikara Nandi service' takes place at exactly 6 am.
It is more than 100 years since the Majestic Adhikar Nandi was given to the temple.
The person who donated this Nandi Vahana was T.S. Kumarasamy Bhakthar. His hometown is Thandarai village near Vandavasi. He was a seventh generation doctor registered in traditional medicine and Siddha Ayurveda medicine.
He donated one-fourth of the income his family earned through medicine for the temple renovation. In response, he had this vehicle, which had been a wooden vehicle until then, artistically designed in silver and donated it. The work for this began in 1912 and was completed in 1917. This divine work was completed at a cost of 48 thousand rupees at that time. In today's value, the work is worth almost 2 crore rupees.
This is the 109th anniversary of this power!
Even today, the family of Kumaraswamy devotees regularly maintain this Nandi Vahana by performing annual procession works.
Adhikara Nandi's pride!
